County Road No.159甲 (159a) was the forerunner of AliShan Highway decades ago, connecting Chia-yi city and a small mountain village called Shi-zhuo . After the completion of new AliSHan Highway (Provincial Highway no.18), County Road 159a has become less important in transporting travellers.
